I think I’ll rest here
Under this beating sun,
Where the breeze will breathe and rustle leaves,
Where bees will have some fun.
And I think I’ll like it here,
Between these blades of grass,
Where flowers bloom and trees do loom,
Where life won’t pass so fast.
And I think I’ll be happy here,
Beside this stone and twig,
Where rain will fall and wash it all,
Where the sky looks very big.
Yes,
I think I’ll rest here —
It feels just right for me.
I can hear the birds singing whispered words
And leave my troubles be.
