Our mental well-being is a fragile thing

Life isn’t easy.

Every day brings about new challenges that we must face.

We each have around us things that pick and pick away. Things that require our strength. Things that make us fight and fight and fight until there’s no more fight left in us.

None of us is immune to depression and anxiety.

These feelings can creep up on us when we least expect them. And when they do, they goad us with ‘you can’t cope’.

Well, neither depression nor anxiety is our weakness. They are not our flaws. They are only signs that we’re trying to stay too strong.

All the while, they make the hours seem long. They make the days and months feel the same-old. They make us feel alone.

We’re never alone. There is always someone there to listen.

They say that 1 in 3 of us will suffer from depression or anxiety at some point in our lives.

I say, at all times, we should give each other our love and support.
